According to the Action Plan for the Customs Union within the Eurasian Economic Community starting from July 1, 2011 all types of transport communications among the members of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia are considered as internal, which means the absence of border and customs clearance at the border of the member-states. In this regard, the the right for 24-hours no-visa transit will not be applied in this case. Thus, the third-country nationals who intend to go to Belarus and Kazakhstan through the territory of the Russian Federation are required to apply for transit visas.

From 15th June 2012 citizens of Australia when applying for entrance visa to the Russian Federation will need to fill in visa application form in two pages, which is similar to visa application forms for citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the United States of America, Canada and Georgia. Besides, to ensure a principle of reciprocity citizens of Australia entering the Russian Federation for official visit or business purpose will need to submit  a detailed curriculum vitae in Russian language only.
