Tourist Card
Tourist card is a full-fledged card of a Russian bank, which will allow you to play in Russian shops, including on the internet, as well as to withdraw cash rubles from any ATM in Russia. The card can be obtained on the territory of your country even before travelling to Russia.
Three main options for issuing a tourist card in a foreign country:
• A tourist independently applies to a bank (financial organisation) in the territory of his/her country and issues a MIR payment card (in person or remotely).
• When making a tour package at the office of the tour operator, the tourist is informed about the possibility of registration of a payment card in a bank (financial organisation) to issue a payment card.
• The tour operator sends the necessary package of documents to a partner bank (financial organisation) for remote identification (via video link). The process takes about 20-25 minutes: the tourist immediately receives a non-named MIR payment card, which is activated remotely (via SMS confirmation from the user).
The tourist receives a MIR payment card with full functionality, which can be topped up at a partner bank (in accordance with the local bank’s internal currency conversion rules) and used for payments. In addition, after the end of the trip in Russia, the balance of funds can also be returned back to the account from which the card was replenished.
