ABOUT THE RECEPTIONIN THE EMBASSY OF RUSSIA IN INDONESIA
ON THE OCCASION OF THE VISIT
OF THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGANIZATION D.F.MEZENTSEV

On December 3, 2015 in the Embassy of Russia in Indonesia the reception on the occasion of the visit to Jakarta of the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Mr. D.F.Mezentsev took place. He was in the Indonesian capital for negotiations with the leadership of the Association of the States of Southeast Asia (ASEAN) concerning interaction between these two large international associations which play increasingly important role in strengthening of peace, security, safety and promoting cooperation in Eurasia and the Region of Asia-Pacific.

In his speech at the reception Mr. D.F.Mezentsev emphasized existence of ample opportunities for large-scale collaboration between SCO and ASEAN, including overcoming of new challenges and threats to the international community.

The event was attended by Deputy Secretary General of ASEAN Mr. V. Arthakaivalvatee, Ambassadors and diplomats of diplomatic missions in Jakarta, including those of states members, observers and dialogue partners of SCO.

The reception took place in a warm friendly atmosphere.
