On the Russian National Day Celebration in Jakarta
Reception on the occasion of the Russia Day was held at the Grand Hyatt Jakarta Hotel on June 12, 2013.
Among the guests present at the event were H.E. Mr. Irman Gusman, President of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Dr. Rizal Afandi Lukman, Deputy Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, H.E. Mr. M.Munir, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, H.E. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Gerindra Party, as well as other distinguished guests – prominent politicians, representatives from military, business, academic and mass media communities in Indonesia and the diplomatic corps.
Giving a speech, H.E. Mr. Mikhail Y. Galuzin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Indonesia, stressed the significance of the Russia Day, which symbolize the sustainable movement of our country in the path of political, economic and social reforms aimed at building a strong, stable and prosperous nation, a developed civil society. The steady development in the Russian-Indonesian partnership, first of all – the confiding dialogue deepening, trade and economic relations expanding, the enhanced interaction in the international arena, were also noted by the Ambassador.
In response, H.E. Mr. Irman Gusman, emphasized the enduring nature of the Russian-Indonesian partnership, based on the long-term tradition of friendship and cooperation. He emphasized the positive dynamics in bilateral relations, including ties between Parliaments of both countries, and expressed willingness to further contribute to their development.
During the reception the well-known chorus "Batavia Madrigal Singers" performed anthems of Russia and Indonesia, as well as the famous Russian songs "Katyusha" and "Moscow Nights".
Expositions of several leading Russian companies, which examines possibilities for expansion in the Indonesian market – OK "RUSAL" and JSC "United Aircraft Corporation" – were presented at the event.
