COMMEMORATIVE EVENTS IN JAKARTA TO CELEBRATE 74^th ANNIVERSARY OF THE VICTORY IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

On May 6, 2019 at the Russian Embassy school in Jakarta organized a concert dedicated to 74^th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The guests had a chance to listen to Soviet music and poetry of the war period. The event was attended by the staff of the Russian diplomatic mission and CIS countries missions as well as the Russian compatriots living in Indonesia.

On May 7 a reception to mark the 74^th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held in the residence of the Ambassador of Russia to Indonesia. The gathering was attended by the heads and staff of the diplomatic missions of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as the personnel of the Embassy, Trade Representation and other Russian agencies in Indonesia. The reception was decorated with the “Immortal Regiment” exposition featuring the photographs of those who participated in the war.

On May 9 the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Jakarta hosted a ceremony organized by the Russian compatriots as a part of the voluntary movement “Immortal Regiment”. Participants with the participants of their relatives who fought during the Great Patriotic War honored the memory of those who died. Songs and poems of the wartime were presented. An exposition “Immortal Regiment in Indonesia: our history” was installed.
