On May 29, 2019 Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Vorobieva met with Laksana Tri Handoko, Chairman of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences.

The parties discussed a complex of issues related to development of the Russian-Indonesian bilateral cooperation in scientific and academic spheres, establishing relations with Russian Geographical Society, as well as organizing joint events in conjunction with the 70^th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Indonesia which will be celebrated in 2020.
